| Statement of support for Black LGBT Community Awards
I am delighted that London is hosting the third Black LGBT Community Awards as the capital is home to the largest and most diverse Black lesbian and gay community in Europe.
The Black LGBT Community Awards complement Black Pride events and this year’s Outside Edge exhibition at the Museum in Docklands, as well as the capital’s vibrant cultural, club and music scenes, and cement London’s position as the hub of Black LGBT culture in the UK and an inspirational example for the world.
London is an amazing place. I'm determined that London should be a city where you can be exactly who you want to be, and live your life as you’ve dreamed it, without fear. The Black LGBT Community Awards celebrate that freedom.
